Health notice

Hello everyone ,

a reminder to please keep your child at home if they are unwell or have a temperature . We are still having cases of the flu like virus that first appeared about 2 weeks ago. Children have been returning to nursery before they are fully recovered , are not coping with the nursery day , and are being sent home again. Which is frustrating for all .Please remember that these illnesses affect all the children at the nursery and their families(some of whom are elderly or pregnant and at higher risk) as well as the staff - and if the staff are ill , we are unable to run the nursery .

Our policy is that any child who has a temperature, or who has been given medication to reduce a temperature , will not be admitted to nursery. If you need to give your child calpol or similar in the morning , they should not come to nursery. If your child becomes  unwell whilst here , we will call you and ask  you to collect them - please do this as soon as possible.  Whilst we do understand that you are working and may not think your child is unwell , high temperatures in young children can have very serious consequences- we are not trained nor do we have the facilities to care for ill children .

This particular virus is not specific to the nursery - its is in the local schools and in the wider community and seems to be highly infectious...so please keep your child at home if they are not well - Thank you
