Springtime

Good morning all ,

we are continuing to make the most of the spring weather and spending a great deal of time outdoors. The children have been denbuilding , having fun in the mud kitchen , constructing lots of wonderful things with the new building crates , painting , decorating stones , exploring water and sand , as well as digging , weeding and planting in the growing areas. In doing this , they have all at sometime needed a change of clothes - and some children still do not have these at nursery . Our nursery stock of clothing is now much depleted as a result . Can you please return any nursery items you may have at home , and ensure that your child has a full change of clothes each day they are here . We'd also be very grateful for any old clothing you no longer need.

Staying outdoors - our handyman Fred has been very busy the last few weeks and will be installing the speedbump at the entrance to the carpark in the next few days - please be aware that this will soon be in place and watch your speed! We will be leaving a space for baby buggies and prams to have easy access There will also be new signs in the carpark alerting everyone of the speed bump and to reverse park . Please also stay in the lower carpark - the upper one is for staff only . Can I also remind you all again to please close and chain the gates every time you use them . I'm sorry to have to nag about this but there are STILL some parents not doing this- observing these measures will help us to keep all the children at Craigton safe and we need everyone's co-operation here - thank you .

Ante- pre school children will find the next in the series of 'Go safe with Ziggy' books in their files today . These are issued by the Scottish Executive and highlight the importance of road safety . We also have these as big books in the nursery so the message is reinforced here. For more information as well as stories and activities , please go to        http://www.gosafewithziggy.com/

Tickets for our Spring Fayre will be on sale next week . The committee this year are Julie , Isabel and Cari and they have been busy organising all kinds of fun for the day . There will be tattoos and face painting and games for all as well as the famous homebaking stall , the cafe for the tired out adults and a BBQ too! Tickets are £5 for a family , or a donation on the day. It does help us if you get your tickets beforehand as it gives us an idea of how many will be coming  There will be lots to spend your pocket money on so raid those piggy banks and bring everyone along on Saturday 10th May 12-2pm . All donations for the raffle will be warmly welcomed, and we'll also ask for homebakes nearer the time.

And as if that wasn't enough we have Easter coming too! All the children have been making some lovely Easter goodies(when we're not out having fun in the garden) and there will be even more next week - dont forget to check their files every day or you may miss their wonderful creations . To give you plenty of time to eat all those Easter eggs and don your bonnets, remember that we shall be closed on Easter Monday 21st April .

We have had a few enquires regarding the date of the Sunflowers Sports Day and Graduation- we are clearly not as organised as you and have not yet set a date - but it is likely to be the last week of June - we will post the date on here as soon as we have it!
