Spring Fayre

Hello everyone ,

well as we are now in British Summertime its once again cold and raining! No to be deterred  , we shall  be having our Spring Fayre on Saturday 10th May 12-2pm . This is our major fundraiser for the year and is always a very well attended event . More details will follow once our committee have finalised their plans , but please make sure you keep that day free . Tickets for this should be on sale next week- we are also looking for donation for the raffle please .

Last week Joanne from Gardening 4 Kids came along and had the sunflowers making bird feeders- I hope that the birds in your gardens are benefiting from these now . We've also been observing the signs of spring , with flowers appearing and some encouraging signs of growth on our fruit tress in the orchard  . All the children have  had fun with the newly created mud kitchen , as well as some new outdoor resources- the half pipe has been particularly popular! We are also expecting our new sheds next week , so lets hope the rain stops so we can assemble them !
We feel its really important that the children are outdoors for at least part of the day , but we can only do this if they are appropriately dressed - please remember to bring suitable outdoor(that means waterproof) clothing and footwear , a full change of clothes , and soft soled shoes or slippers for indoors .
We also have a lot of old wellies and clothes - can you please check the boxes in both buildings and take away anything that belongs to you . This is  also a good time to check that all clothing/footwear at nursery still fits your child - they do grow very quickly!

On Monday we had a 2 special visitors - Gregor (sunflowers) invited his ballet teacher , Mrs Stewart and her assistant Miss Megan , to come along and show the children some ballet moves . They had great fun with music and movement , stretching and dancing , and were also treated to a demonstration of some pointe work by Miss Megan , It was great fun and we'd all like to thank them very much for coming along .
Emma Stewart holds various dance classes for children - if you'd like further information you can contact  her at       emma@deesidedancecentre.co.uk

Our handyman Fred has been very busy preparing the carpark entrance ready to install speed bumps . We are expecting these to arrive next week sometime and they will be fitted shortly after that . As soon as this happens we will inform you , but PLEASE be aware that this is happening soon and slow right down when entering/leaving the car park. (we will be leaving a space on one side for buggys and prams) The speed limit in the carpark is walking speed- please go very slowly , observe the reverse parking rule , and keep to the lower carpark- the top carpark is for staff only . And another reminder to ensure that you close and chain the gates every time . This has improved dramatically in the past months , but there are still some of you not doing this. As we are more often outside now this is even more important- please ensure you do this and help us to keep your children safe. Thank you

We hope that all mums had  a lovely Mother's Day and were spoiled by your children :-) some of you missed out on your Mother's Day cards from nursery - please remember to check your child's file every day they attend to ensure that you get all these beautiful creations on time . There is also lots of other information placed in the children's files - party invitations , book club order forms, show and tell requests etc and you may miss out if you dont check these regularly .

Its the school holidays over the next two weeks and some of you will be going away - please remember to tell us if your child will be absent from nursery  for any reason - its very important that we know who will be attending each day .

Speaking of holidays....dont forget that we shall be closed on the following dates this year:
Easter Monday - 21st April
May Day - 5th May
Aberdeen Holidays - 14th July and 22nd September

We'll close at 6pm Tuesday 23rd Decemebr and re-open 8am Monday 5th January 2015
