Road Safety

Good afternoon ,

As part of the Scottish Government initiative on road safety , all pre-school children are being gifted books following the adventures of Ziggy . Children in their ante pre-school year will receive 'Ziggy and the lollipop' and 'Ziggy visits granny' while pre-school children will receive 'Ziggy's Halloween wish' We have big book versions in the classroom which we use with the children  to reinforce the Road Safety message . For more information on Go Safe With Ziggy and how this links to the CfE please visit  http://www.gosafewithziggy.com/

Those children who have just joined the Sunflower group will also find    Play@home , an NHS publication on encouraging your child to be active . We hope that you and your children enjoy sharing these books at home .

For the younger children , the Infant and Toddler Forum(ITF) have launched a new factsheet for parents on Physical activities for under 3's     https://www.infantandtoddlerforum.org/c/document_library/get_file?uuid=71acbb49-2898-4356-9eed-489898c800b6&groupId=11528&utm_source=emp&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=itf-sep2013

and there is also a useful sheet for mealtimes and nutrition- Ten tips for Healthy Toddlers

The ITF is a useful site not only with guidance and fact sheets on nutrition and feeding for under 3's , but an opportunity to discuss issues with other parents . Have a look at https://www.infantandtoddlerforum.org/

A couple of general reminders - please ensure that you close and chain the gates in the garden every time , drive very , very slowly in the carpark , and only park in the bottom carpark- the top carpark is for staff only . Please let us know if your child will not be attending for any reason, and remember to bring a full change of clothes , suitable outdoor gear and soft soled shoes/slippers for indoors each day.

As autumn begins and winter wont be far away(sorry!) we are likely to see a rise in infections and viruses . Please do not bring your child to nursery if they are unwell ,  have  a temperature , or have been given medication (eg Calpol) to reduce a temperature . If your child becomes unwell whilst with us , we will contact you and ask  you to take them home- please do so as soon as possible . We need your co-operation to ensure a  healthy environment for  everyone at Craigton - all the children , their families and the staff - Thank you .

And finally don't forget that we shall be closed on  Monday 23rd September for the Aberdeen holiday .
