Good morning everyone ,
We have had a confirmed case of chickenpox in the sunflowers building . Below is a link to the symptoms
http://www.patient.co.uk/health/chickenpox-in-children-under-12
Please note that the incubation period can be up to 21 days before symptoms appear . Any child with chickenpox cannot return to nursery until no new spots are appearing , and those spots are healing(usually about 5 days after first symptoms)
We still also have the flu like virus hanging around , some children have been affected more than once . Please keep your child at home if they are unwell . These viruses/infections are highly contagious and affect all the children at nursery , their families , and the staff . Also , if your child becomes unwell whilst with us , please pick them up as soon as you can - thank you .
Its been a busy time recently, with Mother's Day last weekend , Red Nose Day today and St. Patrick's Day on Sunday - lots of activity linked to these has been going on at Craigton . This morning , the sunflowers have been creating special RND superheroes online , and just about everyone has come in something red.
The schoolhouse children have been looking at all kinds of animals recently - including pets . Please bring in pictures/information if you have any pets at home- the children love sharing pictures and experiences with their friends .
Our newly planted orchard seems to have survived the recent return of the wintry conditions - lets just hope spring is on its way!
And finally , our friends at BHF (charity bin) are putting out an appeal for shoes . So if you're having a clearout , please put your items in our red wheelie bin located outside the sunflowers entrance .
Don't forget that if you're involved in a charity event or have anything you'd like to share with us , please let me know and I'll post it on here.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend
